Painting three pumpkins

In this class, I will be teaching you how to apply colors wet on wet; what is the best ratio between water and paint when applying colors wet on wet; how to wet paper so you have the most control; how to keep things 'loose without overworking the areas.

It's important to visualize where you are going to apply colors - this is when light and shadows become the most important - especially when you are painting pumpkins or even the hay.

I will be teaching you how to plan this ahead, so you feel comfortable with wetting the paper, and to think of all the areas where (and why) you are going to apply certain colors, starting with undertones (pumpkins), the lightest colors first.

I can't wait to share all the tips with you.

Hi, I’m your watercolor teacher!

After starting two online schools (first on Patreon and later on Teachable), I wanted to create a membership-based school with more detailed classes. Something a lot more affordable and with a broader choice of subjects.

Another pumpkins class

These pumpkins are already available to paint in this school.

More pumpkins for practice

This class will be available at www.patreon.com/mariamorjane during this autumn season 2022.

Wet on wet vs wet on dry

When I first started painting with watercolors, I didn't know much about 'wet on wet, so I was painting everything 'wet on dry. The truth is, painting 'wet on wet is much easier once you learn the correct ratios between water and paint. You can divide every painting into sections, so you don't have to tackle all the areas at once.

Simple pumpkins

These will be another class available at www.patreon.com/mariamorjane during this fall season 2022.

Light and shadows

As with every painting, it's all about light and shadows, to create a nice balance. Whenever you apply colors to the pumpkin, you always want to think of the lightest areas first.
